Infant class

The baby's day is organized to fit in with their needs and teachers’ routine. Babies have their own playing area with access to a separate sensory activity area to aid their development and understanding of the world.

Once the baby becomes more mobile, they will also have access to the soft play area and baby gym. We employ a high ratio of 1 staff to 4 babies, keeping in line with ADEK Ousted guidelines. All staff caring for babies are specifically selected and trained to care for this age group. Our trained HAAD qualified Nurse is also available for the
baby class.

Early Toddler class

In the toddler class, the children are beginning to settle into a routine. They are learning to sit at a table and follow simple instructions from the Teacher.

Lots of sensory and play-based activities are happening throughout the day, which gives children the opportunity to experiment with new materials such as paint, water play and sand etc…

Late Toddlers Class

Each child is encouraged to develop their own pattern of eating, playing, socializing, and toilet training (using purpose-designed child-sized toilets, cubicles, and hand basins). By developing their own routine in a safe and structured environment the child develops confidence, understanding, and ability. When they start pre-school, they do so as confident learners.

Pre-school/FS1

Children moving from Nursery to Pre-school have the advantage of remaining in familiar surroundings with staff that will already be well known to them. All pre-school activities are carefully planned around the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, intended to prepare children for when they move on to school (FS2). The Early Learning Goals of the EYFS are delivered through the following seven key areas of learning.

Extra rooms:

  • Dining/Cooking Room: Can accommodate 20 children in one sitting. (See timetable for snack and lunch sessions)
    2 tables+ 20 student’s chairs+ 3 teacher chairs.
  • Library: various resources in languages, portent play and cozy seating arrangements
  • Indoor Gym: Teachers can use this room and implement their planned activities when the weather does not allow them to use the outside playing
  • Sensory Room: We have a specially designed sensory room that combines a range of stimuli to help children develop and engage their senses.

Outdoor playing area:

Outdoor classroom teaching encourages a more hands on, inquiry-based learning in a real-world setting. Its real significance lies in the emotional, social, cognitive and psychological development of young children.

Little Helpers Nursery outside Playing Areas include a large open space with state of the art and age-appropriate equipment such as slides, swings and climbing equipment. These spaces are used to allow children to develop physical, cooperative skills and many other skills in a safe and well-designed area. Preschool and late Toddlers got different outside area from early toddlers and infants.
