We seek to provide quality and consistency of provision in a rich, safe and play environment, based on the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) hence Little Helper Nursery (LHN) choose the EYFS to be the core of its curriculum to foster supports an integrated approach to early learning stages and care at the Nursery.
It gives all professionals, a set of common principles and commitments to deliver quality in early education and child care experiences in all the children level.
LHN children can busy themselves with practical solid program and teacher teaching to let the children use their imagination with knowledge and hand on activities to be ready to school or move to another level.
Our curriculum ensures a smooth transition with a lot of driven learning expectation, for growth and development. We plan an exciting and challenging curriculum based on our observation of a child’s needs, interests and stages of development across the seven areas of learning.
All the seven areas of learning and development are important.
Communication and Language:
Communication is at the heart of developing young children's learning. At little helper Nursery, children experience a rich language environment to develop their confidence and skills in expressing themselves. Children are given opportunities daily to listen and speak in a range of situations and develop key skills for learning at school.
Physical Development:
Regular physical activity is needed to promote healthy growth of young children. At little helper Nursery children are given opportunities to be active and interactive, to develop their coordination, control and movement. This also helps to build self-confidence and develop their imagination.
Personal, Social and Emotional Development:
At Little Helper Nursery children are encouraged to develop a positive sense of themselves and others to form positive relationships and to develop respect for others. Children learn to co-operate, share, and have responsibility and consideration for other people, their cultures, and beliefs and for property.
Understanding the World:
Little Helper Nursery helps children to make sense of their physical world and community by providing opportunities to explore, observe and find out about people, places, and the environment around them. Children have a natural interest in finding out how things work and creating their own models. Children can explore sand and water, use the watering cans to water the plant, washing our vegetable and for opposite full/empty and make mud pies in our mud kitchen.
Mathematics:
Mathematics is based on practical activities and experiences that are part of our everyday routines. For example: self-registration each morning-counting how many children are present today, how many boys, how many girls, how many more boys are there to girls? Tidying up - sorting toys; baking - weighing ingredients on scales; singing - learning numbers using rhymes, Science experiment, Opposite and much more.
Art and Design:
At little helper Nursery, we encourage children to use their imagination, feelings and ideas through a variety of activities in art, music and movement and through story telling in our role play area.
Literacy:
Children link sounds and letters. They are given access to a wide range of stories, flash cards and materials to ignite their interest. In this way, children become confident learners and discover new ways to express themselves.
The teaching teams are expected to work collaboratively to develop the curriculum, integrate resources, developmental goals, and lesson plans, experiences in trilingual education, and encourage positive interaction between family, school and the community.
A cornerstone of the curriculum will revolve around national identity enrichment themes and support of community social responsibility in the emirate of Abu Dhabi in specific and the United Arab Emirates culture in general.
